David Breitwieser

David Breitwieser brings more than 15 years of hands-on experience in Alberta’s welding and quality control environment. With a background as an Alberta Red Seal Journeyman and B Pressure Welder, David also graduated with honors from a Welding Engineering Technology program and is a CSA W178.2 Level 2 Certified Welding Inspector.

David’s QC career began in a pressure vessel and pressure piping shop, where he developed the expertise and practical tools needed to oversee the new construction of thousands of pressure spools and pressure vessels. This foundation has played a key role in supporting Canoco’s achievement of ASME and National Board certification for new pressure vessel construction.

A metallurgy and welding specialist, David is trusted for his deep knowledge of construction codes and provincial regulatory requirements across Canada. He regularly helps Canoco and its clients select the right materials and align welding processes and procedures with project and compliance requirements. Throughout his career, he has successfully managed major projects for Canoco, including CNRL Horizon, SNRI Pine River, Sherritt, and Whitecap Resources.

David is a strong believer in the mentorship culture Canoco brings to the table, supporting the next generation by passing on the skills, discipline, and technical knowledge required to sustain and strengthen the industry.
