Bretton Gabel

Bretton Gabel is the Financial Controller at Canoco Energy Ltd., bringing over a decade of experience in accounting, finance, and operational leadership within the energy and logistics sectors. With a strong foundation in financial reporting, budgeting, and cost accounting, Bretton has played a key role in supporting Canoco’s rapid growth by implementing scalable systems and improving financial visibility across all divisions.

At Canoco, Bretton oversees multi-division financial operations, including an 18,000 sq. ft. fabrication shop, while leading initiatives that enhance reporting accuracy, automate cash flow forecasting, and maintain lender covenant compliance. His contributions include implementing an ERP system, developing real-time dashboards, and securing favourable banking terms to support Canoco’s expansion.

Bretton is currently pursuing his CPA designation through the Western School of Business. He is known for his analytical mindset, collabourative leadership style, and commitment to process improvement.

His work directly supports Canoco’s mission of operational excellence by providing the financial clarity and structure needed for sound strategic decision-making. Looking ahead, Bretton aims to continue driving innovation in financial systems and positioning Canoco as an industry leader in transparency, resilience, and long-term value creation.
